Halle Berry’s iconic pixie cut was more than just a simple style statement — it might’ve actually been the reason for her big break.
The 52-year-old actress told InStyle that it wasn’t until she chopped off her hair that she finally booked her first acting role as Emily Franklin on the ’80s sitcom “Living Dolls.”
“I think that was because the directors and producers actually saw me,” Berry explained. “Before that, I had long hair like every other girl like me. When I got this haircut, I felt like my best self.”
Continued the Oscar winner: “It was just all me take it or leave it, love it or hate it. I was who I was.”
Berry has since grown out the super-short hair that helped propel her to fame, although she did debut an edgy undercut at a special screening of “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum” in May.
